The area of the Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro is not only a space for leisure, but for many, is a space of struggle. In this documentary, the Grupo Popular Pesquisa em Ação, a group of activist researchers, (some of whom are part of contested cities) explore the struggle of indigenous peoples, for education, for housing and against capital departing from the Maracanã stadium. The struggle surrounding the Maracanã stadium is common with others throughout Brazil, with the imposition of mega event development models for the Fifa World Cup and upcoming Olympics. The full video will be available in December.
