Hacia la ciudad de umbrales
Stavrides, Stavros

This work underpins the importance of questioning of what once Foucault and Lefebvre discussed on despotism of political and urban projects on cities. By focusing on the way despotism is challenged, or ignored, on the way it is disobeyed, by "heterotopias", Stavros discusses about the crisis entering point, when dark energies aroused in the society, that simultaneously brought about some kind of hope.

In more recent years, the occupation of squares and other public spaces claimed - "a way of reclaiming our own lives and proposing a different way of composing social life" - which has underpinned a powerful reinvention of politics and of social relations. The book "Towards the city of thresholds" is a pioneer and brilliant study of these new forms of socialization and of self-management use of communal space.
